Iranian runner breaks skipping rope world record

Yasuj, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad prov, July 19, IRNA – Iranian runner Naser Ahmadi broke the record of skipping rope running, the Managing Director of Sports and Youths Office of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad said.

The representative of Iran Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and the representative of Guinness World Records are scheduled to have trip to the province to register the record, Mohammad Taqi Alavi told Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Wednesday.

Ahmadi promoted skipping rope world record to 6 minutes and 100 meters, he said.

Ashrita Furman from Canada had the record of 21 km skipping rope in 128 minutes and Iranian athlete broke the record to 21.100 km and in 122 minutes, he added.

Ashrita Furman is a Guinness World Records record-breaker. As of 2017, Furman has set more than 600 official Guinness Records and currently holds 200 records, including the record for holding the most Guinness world records. He has been breaking records since 1979.
